First of all, a quick snap from Sunday's tea that I forgot to post. Nom nom nom.
Today was a lazy morning. Me and Tim met up at about 9am to wonder to the market and pick up some shizzle to eat. I went for my usual fried-bread-stick-things (20pence) and then while walking past a bread stall smelt some delicious bread, so grabbed a bunch of that (50pence.) Still working my way through the bread. Makes a nice snack. Its kinda like hot-cross-buns... without the cross.
Later on Tim needed his hair cut, so we went to his favourite hairdressers. That was hilarious. Lots of Chinese staff with crazy hair, and Tim as the only customer. Lots of staring and laughing on the part of the staff. It was entertaining. Again, check how clean the place is:
Then I needed to grab some things from the supermarket. Prices of things in China are all over the place. Take for example the huge bag of prawn crackers pictured below. 18pence. Whereas the green towel... £4! Psssh! That was the cheapest they had as well! Sheesh. Using washing up liquid for soap was also starting to get old, so I decided to get some actual soap.
Today was Dumi's birthday, so that meant KTV! (Karaoke.) Everyone was invited, so a lot of the Chinese teachers from school were there. 95% of the songs were Chinese, and the 5% of English ones were such a random selection. Lots of really good karaoke artists... but their worst karaoke songs. (Such as Prince - Cream... but no rasberry beret. Duh!) Anyway, I ended up [badly] singing Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder... it was an awesome atmosphere though.
Photos from my phone:
^ William singing some random Chinese song. The guy can sing!
^ Dumi's birthday cake. T'was yummy.
^ Fangfang and her husband doing a duet.
It was an awesome night, and I look forward to our next KTV session. 4hrs in the booth plus everyone's drinks came to like... £23. You just can't beat China for quality entertainment on the cheap. :)
